For over 30 years, a little white house has sat on the corner of Harrison St. and Prospect St. in Waldwick, NJ waiting for patrons to come inside to enjoy a warm cup of coffee, good conversation, and some much-deserved pampering. The Hair Cottage, a family-owned barber shop and salon, has prided itself on not only offering superior service, but providing a place where customers can relax and join in on the family fun.
This is why generations after generations of families have been to The Hair Cottage. For these customers, it all started with first haircut on a real carousel horse. As the years have gone by, these same customers have trusted The Hair Cottage staff to tame their cowlicks in the awkward middle school years; been excited about the turnout of their prom up-do’s and swanky haircuts; and finally, as adults, they know they are in good hands when they want to experiment with a trendy new hairstyle. For many, coming to The Hair Cottage isn’t just another scheduled hair appointment; it’s a chance to reminisce with friends and family. Even for new customers, you can’t help but get swept up in the warm, comforting feeling of The Hair Cottage.
The Barber Side
Patsy Siracusa, named 2011 “Ultimate Jet’s Fan”, definitely lives up to his title. Besides cutting hair like a pro, Patsy’s talent is seen all over The Hair Cottage. Shelves of painted football fields and Jet’s figurines line his barber’s station. It’s truly a sight to see; however, it doesn’t make his brother Vinnie very happy.
Vinnie Siracusa loves the Giants! So much so, that he hired a muralist to paint a life-size game of the Giants and Jets playing each other on the wall that separates Vinnie and Patsy’s stations. During football season, you can’t stop this Sicilian duo from vocalizing their feelings about the other’s team. And of course, they love when customers join in on the fun!

ANOTHER GREAT DAY
As Jackie, Vinnie, and Patsy leave The Hair Cottage after a long day of work, they lock the door and turn back to the little white house and say “Goodnight shop, thank you shop.” It’s been another great day at The Hair Cottage.
